Alyson's training in sound was the piano then guitar. She realised her dyslexia was a problem with the memory of sound, but not the enjoyment of it. Her father's interest in the socialism of the old folk songs of his native Australia, gave her the insight into the power of lyrics, and so created a seed bed for her own poetry and song writing.
Eddie Gray, the violinist and composer, is making a CD with Alyson, using his music with her poetry, wth actors reciting the poems from her new book 'The Painted Sailor' 2005.
In the 1970s Alyson travelled widley in Spain with Darcy Lange, listening to the most famoius of the Flaminco singers, such as Fernanda and Bernada, and 'La Chocolate.'
Darcy studied guitare under Diego del Gastor, and Alyson's sister Linley married the singer Anderano, and still lives in Moron de la Frontera. |
